Woman rescued from fire at Donora duplex

A woman was rescued from a house fire in Washington County early Friday morning.

The fire broke out at a duplex shortly before 1 a.m. on Thompson Avenue in Donora, PA. Both homes of the duplex appear to be destroyed, according to a WPXI reporter at the scene.

WTAE reports police kicked the door down to rescue the woman inside. She was checked out and did not need to go to the hospital.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
