New cars in storage lot swamped by flood waters

Dozens of new cars are ruined after a storage lot was flooded Friday morning after heavy rains moved through the area overnight.

Richard Bazzy sent us this video of cars flooded at one of his storage lots. He arrived to find dozens of cars swamped by floodwaters.

Bazzy says, “I felt like it was important to show this because it is something I’ve never seen.”

RabbleVID’s Patrick O’Conner stopped by the lot, which has become a noisy symphony of car alarms.

Patrick also gives us a tour of the flooded lot.

Bazzy’s new cars, along with new cars from other dealerships are stored at the McCandless Park & Ride on Blazier Drive, which borders Pine Creek.

The final tally is nearly 50 damaged cars. Bazzy says these vehicles will be covered by insurance and dismantled by the recovery company.

Several other places in the area have flooded as well– from Greene County, to Canonsburg, Bridgeville and others.

Rain will change to ice and snow as the day goes on. City officials are advising the public to stay off the roads if possible Friday night.
