The NFL punished JuJu Smith Schuster for his hit on Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict with a one game suspension.
JuJu laid Burfict out with a devastating hit as a way to prevent him from tackling Le’Veon Bell. While Burfict was laying on the field, JuJu stood over him in what has been described as in a taunting manner.

JuJu did apologize following the game, saying he was wrong for standing over a player like that.
I don’t have any intentions to hurt anyone when I play football. I didn’t mean to hurt Vontez Burfict, I just wanted to throw a block for my teammate. I apologize for standing over him and that isn’t me. Praying he gets better.

Mike Mitchell tweeted his displeasure in his teammate being suspended and criticized the NFL for giving JuJu the same punishment as Rob Gronkowski.
So gronk elbow drops a guy off the top rope like Dusty Rhodes and gets same suspension as a guy getting a penalty making a football play. Okay cool @NFL @espn @ESPNNFL can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Monday night’s game was filled with scary injuries and brutal hits. Even though the Steelers won, the mood after the game was somber with everyone’s thoughts centered around Ryan Shazier, who was carted off the field early in the first quarter. Mike Tomlin addressed Shazier’s condition at his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon.
