Paul Ryan welcomed to Pittsburgh with protest

House Speaker Paul Ryan’s visit to Pittsburgh was met with protests. While Ryan was dining at the Duquesne Club, locals voiced their displeasure with a peaceful protest on Sixth Avenue.

RabbleVID user “ringasunn” sent video of people standing outside the building on the sidewalk, expressing their issues with Ryan and the Republican Party’s views on health care. The group held signs while one person led the crowd on a megaphone. Officers stood among the crowd.

A Facebook event was created to inform people of Ryan’s appearance and organize the protest.

This comes only days after many marched through Downtown Pittsburgh in support of the Affordable Care Act, the health care bill Ryan and the Trump administration is trying to repeal.
