Crews had to rescue a deer that had jumped into the Highland Park Reservoir Thursday afternoon.
After about two hours, the exhausted deer was brought safely to dry land.
After a few minutes, the deer scampered off into the woods.
Pittsburgh Public safety posted this video of the rescue.
Rescue crews used a paddle boat to wrangle the deer.
Shawn Eigenbrode, Paramedic Crew Chief for City of Pittsburgh EMS was one of the rescuers on the boat. He tells us he’s happy with the outcome.
Patrick Corcoran, an animal control officer, was on the boat with Eigenbrode. He says he doesn’t know how the deer got in the reservoir, but he hopes it doesn’t happen again.
