Yankees complete series comeback, advance to ALCS

Another year means another heartbreak for Cleveland fans. Just one season ago the Indians lost a World Series game 7 in extra innings after blowing a 3-1 series lead, and now fans are left with a similar feeling.

The Yankees won game 5 of the American League Division Series Wednesday night 5-2. New York once trailed 2 games to none in the best of 5 series before rallying to win 3 in a row.

Yankees shortstop DiDi Gregorius was the star of the night, belting 2 home runs and driving in 3 runs off Indians ace Corey Kluber.

CC Sabathia, who started his career with Cleveland, struck out 9 in just over 4 innings on the mound. Sabathia was pulled after the Indians cut New York’s lead to only one with their only runs of the game in the bottom of the 5th.

New York will meet the Houston Astros in its first American League Championship Series appearance since 2012.
